  1. Great initiative but Whitefield is not there in the list

  2. As well as Indiranagar: the entire stretch of 100ft Road should be open to protesters.

  3. I seriously object to some of the wordings used. How can you call acts of goondagiri as moral policing? These are acts of immoral policing. :-)

Here out of india, people ask me does your city has this moral policing, where there is no answer.

I feel ashamed for the act of this so called sena brigade, where are we heading to,

please for god sake, do something which is more productive for human being, rather than talking & discussing on ban on valentine day or dressing.

  8. Thanks Dr.Gowda for organising this.... People like Kasab and Mutalik are a cancer to this society.... They need to be taught a lesson

  9. Thanks Rajeev for putting this together.

Does anyone on this forum know if someone's filed an RTI about the status of the charge against Mutalik?

  10. In yesterday's Hindu, there was a list of acts in the Indian Penal Code that these immoral bastards called the Ram Sena has violated and could be charged for by the Mangalore pub incident.

For those of you who have not seen it, believe me, its a ton and most of them are punishable by imprisonment. I'd really like to know how these mother fuckers managed to get bail in-spite of all these laws.

Makes me wonder about the value of dignity in this country..

  11. Rajeev considers "moral policing" more worthy of his attention than any of the terror acts.

I guess his research (if any) is funded by the Times of India.

  12. Yes mr.taco.. it is because nobody has right to deny freedom.. and harm others in society.. People like mutaliks are the terrorists within the society and are not worthy of living. He should be punished with maximum sentence possible or hanged till death for beating up innocent girls in mangalore

  13. Just Back from the protest near the Richmond Circle location. The initiative was good but the response to it was dissapointing to say the least. There were not enough people to even go beyond the St. Jospeh's wall. Most of the people I saw were college students, which is commendable but to my dismay there were not many corporate sector ppl. I fail to see the point behind heated discussions over chai and samosas when we fail to do anything concrete about it. As i returned from the location me and my friends felt that the setiments put forth by the movie 'A Wednesday' are so true. Our memories are too short lived to bring us to action till we are the direct victims. The nation won its freedom when a majority united for a common cause. Today i failed to see that unity. If this continues we will soon fall prey to yet another oppressor.

  14. hey guys,
My office is in egl...I searched in enite campus...I then sms'ed 90088 90088 and got a reply sms saying that starting point is 2 kms away from egl...some temple busstand..I went there also...then I went to airport road flyover which was also mentioned in the sms....
but I found NO PEOPLE ANYWHERE...was I the only person in the entire area!

While I agree that the people might have not turned up...it is sad to see that the actual starting points are like 2 kms away from what is mentioned in the website...

We as people and organizers need to plan better...

  15. A couple of my friends and I went upto Dairy Circle during our lunch break at office. But we didn't see anybody around or a crowd. Either we missed the exact location or not many turned up I guess. Any idea if the Dairy Circle - Sagar Apollo march happened?

  18. Dear Sri Gowda, i am a 55 year old grandma with young daughters. I dont deny i am orthodox in my views and am dismayed by some of the "progressive" activities young people indulge in today. That said, i unambiguously CONDEMN the actions of the moral police. Who is Muthalik to assume custody of our traditions ? He has no right to impose his views on others. I strongly believe this Valentine's day is wasteful expenditure of time, money and energy, just a commercial ruse to promote sale of fancy goods. But i will not prevent, much less beat up kids who want to have mindless fun. The pink chaddi campaign is too offensive for me. I gladly send my good wishes to your peaceful protest.- Sowbhagya Narayan

  19. Maybe we can also send the chaddi snaps online at "ramsena@shriramsena.com"
    :)

  20. Hello Deepak,

I was at Embassy Golf Links (in front of KPMG/DELL offices). We were there between 1:20 and 2:00. The turn out was very poor. Perhaps you didnt find us :(

  21. Well done. I was at the Mount Carmel College protest gathering. It was well attended. However, a few protests will not help and we need to take more active steps, including joining politics

I think its time people who are educated, clean and committed, like Rajeev actually get into politics and make an effort at regenerating our political system from the inside. Otherwise, we will remain as neutral observers with no ability to influence how our society functions and develops

  22. Great initiative and energy overall!

Three of us joined the protest by the Jyoti Nivas folks after a Times of India photographer informed us of the crowd there. We probably wanted to enthuse ourselves after
the expectedly terrible response outside Embassy Golf Links despite our best efforts today and earlier. Auto and taxi drivers sounded more empathetic and grounded in reality than the "I-Tees"

Apparently, many of the JNC ppl. joined after an announcement over their public address system. Also, the college seemingly supplied the flyers that they had. Unsurprisingly, the best action was by colleges (St. Joseph's, Mount Carmel, Srishti etc.) and some in Mangalore.

Will update as I hear more. Continue the wonderful work everyone.

  23. I did not know about SriramaSene until the Mangalore PUB incident. Now I am a supporter of Sene, after the organisation regretted the modality used by the activists to protest the illegal activities in the PUB without the permit.

There are serious social evils facing the common man every day. I would join you in 'UNITING' my Bangalore the day you protest for letting the pubs operate without permissions or protesting for distributing liquor in the slums during elections (while the slum women are struggling with all their resources to deaudict their hubands).

Please refrain from wasting resources on trivial stray incidents like this.

  24. Why dont you go get a life, Ravikala..

If someone you loved was molested that day by these Sene bastards, you would not have called it a trivial incident. Molesting women is not the way to retaliate against a pub without a license. There are laws in this country and you have to approach the right authorities.

This was clearly a case of a bunch of sex starved, jealous, low self esteem, roadside hanging, no job, sons of bitches venting out their frustration.

Since, you have proved beyond doubt that your brain capacity is equal to that of a common housefly, let me break this down for you. Molesting a women with an intention to outrage her modesty is an offence whether the pub has a license or not. Is that so hard to understand, you fuck head ???

(Others, please excuse my language. I normally am quite polished but cartoons like Ravikala deserve worse than this)

  25. It looks like Muthaalik ain't gonna get the love birds married on V day after all. He claims it was an empty threat. Empty Threat!

I think it was a combination of the protests and the pink chaddis that freaked him out !! Disgusting thought, but looks like the Ram Sena's gonna have chaddiphobia for the rest of their lives !!! :-)
